📘 Course Structure

The SAT course includes:

• Online Theory (Approx. 30 hrs) – Self-paced learning covering safety, biomechanics, lesson structure and more.

• Face-to-Face Workshop (8 hrs) – Practical induction run at FuntoSwim.

• On-the-Job Training (20–30 hrs) – Supervised swim teaching practice.

• Final Competency Assessment (1.5 hrs) – Demonstrate your teaching ability in a real swim school setting.

The entire course can be completed in as little as 4–6 weeks, depending on availability and confidence. You have up to 12 months to complete all components.

✅ Units of Competency

You’ll be working toward nationally recognised units from the Certificate III in Aquatics and Recreation:

• SISCAQU002 – Perform basic water rescues

• SISCAQU008 – Instruct water familiarisation, buoyancy, and mobility

• SISCAQU009 – Instruct water safety and survival skills

• SISCAQU010 – Instruct swimming strokes

🧠 What You’ll Learn

• Teaching fundamentals for swim strokes and water confidence

• Age-appropriate communication strategies

• Pool safety and risk management

• Basic biomechanics for swimming efficiency

This course allows you to deliver GST-free, water-related personal safety and survival lessons as per Australian federal guidelines.
